Aaron D. Melamed is the managing attorney for the Social Security Disability Division of Reifkind, Thompson & Rudzinski, LLP. Mr. Melamed has worked on thousands of claims for Disability Insurance Benefits (DIB) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) throughout his career. He has extensive knowledge and experience navigating every stage of the claims process from initial application through hearings and appeals.
Prior to joining Reifkind, Thompson & Rudzinski, LLP, Aaron excelled as an advocate for large disability law firms, where he had the privilege of representing disabled individuals before Administrative Law Judges in more than 30 jurisdictions throughout the United States.
Mr. Melamed was born and raised in North Miami Beach, Florida. He obtained his B.A. in Political Science from DePaul University in 2004, while interning at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office - Real Estate Tax Division. Aaron earned his J.D. from Western Michigan University – Thomas M. Cooley Law School and graduated Cum Laude. During law school, his scholastic achievements included placement on the Honor Roll 5 semesters, Dean’s List 4 semesters, and he received the highest grade in the course for Contracts, Civil Procedure, Research & Writing, Secured Transactions, Bankruptcy Law, and Florida Drunk Driving Law & Practice. He also had the opportunity to work as judicial intern for 13th Circuit Court Judge Christopher C. Sabella in the felony division.
In his spare time, Aaron enjoys traveling, playing drums, guitar, and piano, and spending time with family and friends.
