Hit-and-Run LawsuitPosted March 29, 2018 in Automobile Accidents, Firm News, Personal Injury, Wrongful Death
Marcos Antonio Gonzalez-Balboa, a personal injury lawyer from Hialeah, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with DUI manslaughter/failure to render aid, vehicular homicide/failure to stop, leaving the scene of a crash involving a death and tampering with physical evidence linking him to the death of 26-year-old Tatum Holloway back in December of 2017.
A civil lawsuit was filed on behalf of her parents, which states she was found faced down near a gutter on the west side of Fairway Drive. The lawsuit states Gonzalez-Balboa was driving recklessly, under the influence, and should have yielded at the crosswalk.
He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1979 and has a clean 10-year disciple history. However, he has a record of 22 tickets from 1993-2013, with most of those tickets dismissed for different reasons. Three of those tickets were for DUI, one for reckless driving, one for careless driving, one for seat belt violation, and one for leaving the scene of an accident.
Although Gonzalez-Balboa has denied all allegations, it is disappointing to hear of a personal injury lawyer being involved in a case like this. Our condolences go out to the victim’s family and hope that justice will be served.
