Tara Leigh Scott is an associate attorney in the Criminal Law division of RTRLAW. Ms. Scott represents clients at the trial and appellate level in the areas of white-collar crime, drug trafficking, theft crimes, DUI’s, domestic violence, sex offenses, violation of probation, and post-conviction relief. Additional areas of practice include general civil litigation, family law litigation, and transactional matters, with experience in Admiralty and Maritime law.
Ms. Scott received her Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1997. During this time, Ms. Scott attended the University College of London where she studied international human rights issues, co-authoring an amicus curiae brief filed in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of a local human rights organization in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ms. Scott graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. John’s University in 1994 on an academic scholarship. To fulfill her minor in International Relations, Ms. Scott spent her junior year at the Technical University of Budapest in Budapest, Hungary.
Ms. Scott was born in Bayside, New York and has lived in South Florida since attending the University of Miami School of Law.
In her free time, she is an avid traveler – whether it is for scuba diving in the Red Sea or Skiing the Andes.
